I feel like in the last couple of years I've truly realised the magic of a good outfit and it's power of making you feel a certain way. I was reading Alice's post on this whilst in bed this morning and it truly captured how I've been feeling about my wardrobe lately. After a few difficult days recently I found myself becoming lazier with dressing (things all got a bit Kyle from the View with my jeans habit), and it was only after these technicolor-Joseph trousers of dreams arrived that I finally picked myself up, with them truly are the injection of cheer my wardrobe needed.

Honestly? Initially I definitely wasn't sure I'd be brave enough for them. I've definitely found myself in a sartorial comfort zone lately, but I think pushing yourself out of it can work wonders for your confidence- a wardrobe cliff dive of sorts. I was watching Clemmie on Instagram and one thing she said stuck with me. After receiving a message from a woman who was feeling less than confident in her wardrobe, she put on a dress after thinking she 'didn't look good in it' or it 'didn't fit her properly any more', and received compliments on her outfit, proving in fact the total opposite. I know it's something we're all incredibly good at (me especially), but after braving these brights yesterday I felt better than I had in a long time. They're definitely head turners (that I can be sure of), but if anyone has a problem about the way you dress, I promise it says more about them than you. I know next time I need a lift I'll be reaching for these again. So, if like me you've been in a wardrobe slump- pull out something you've not worn in a while, try it on and see what happens. Because if I can brave looking like a beach towel (a beautiful one no less), we can all do it.

  5. These trousers are amazing! And all the yes to what you've said too - I'm definitely in a bit of a wardrobe slump at the moment, getting lazy and don't feel enthusiastic about anything I've got to wear. Need to have a look at some old bits!

  6. This is such a lovely and fresh outfit! I can completely relate to this - I've been in such a rut, both in my wardrobe and life, lately but I've been slowly adding more colour and fun to my outfits, and it has really been lifting my spirits. You've styled this outfit perfectly! Love the cute bag as well <3

  21. OMG I LOVE THEM! You look amazing Liv! Really! I love the message behind this post and it's often a thought that does creep into the heads of a lot of us I'm sure! But summer is definitely the time to go all out and not care what others think (often because it can get so bloody hot that I just don't have the energy to care, haha!) and you're so right, sometimes wearing something out of your comfort zone can really boost the confidence!

Gorgeous outfit! Those trousers are perfect for summer!

  26. These trousers are so fun! It is a difficult piece to wear though and you're definitely braver than me, and that paid off because you look really cool in this outfit! It's very unique and the colours are perfect for a summery outfit. :)
