(Jumpsuit: C/O People Tree, Bag: Tidy Street Store (similar here), Shoes: Superga, Earrings: Dinny Hall, Ring: So Just Shop)

I've spoken in the past about how I've been trying to make a little more effort with how I shop. I've been guilty in the past of being blissfully unaware about the sources of clothes and I'm definitely trying a little more to shop consciously, be wary about the origins of what I'm wearing and shop independently where I can too. Obviously I won't pretend I'm suddenly saintly, and I still have a long way to go- but after getting dressed this morning and pulling on this jumpsuit (which received three IRL compliments, which in London must be some sort of record) I wanted to show how easy it is to put together a great outfit which is not only in line with my style- but fair trade, hand woven and created by Swallows- a fair trade group in rural Bangladesh which was set up to provide opportunities for women; which in my opinion makes it worth every penny.

I'd heard a little bit about People Tree in the past, but like my other naive conceptions of sustainable and ethical fashion, didn't quite realise how good their selection was (e.g: these trousers are next on my list). I've seen a handful of pieces similar to this jumpsuit on the high street (albeit honestly not as well made or cut), but knowing it's come from a good place, with the money going to the right people certainly makes my spending habit feel a little more responsible. I'd love to know if you'd like to see an edit of more of my favourite sustainable brands (because there's certainly a few), and hopefully we can all start shopping smarter together.

  11. It's so lovely to see a top blogger discussing ethical fashion and using their platform for a good cause! <3 Unfortunately, I'm still a long way to go with shopping ethically so an edit of your favourite sustainable brands would be really helpful! I do try to shop a little more consciously by only buying something that I know I will get lots of wear out of, or the odd vintage piece here and there, but I'd love to look more into buying items that have been made not just for profit but to help others! You look absolutely lovely in this jumpsuit and it looks so well made!
