Although it's been a couple of years since I've had to do the September pencil-case shop, there's something about September, and a clean slate (or whiteboard) that has me excited for the last few months ahead. One of my favourite things about going back to school though, was picking up new term essentials and the key pieces that would see me through endless lectures, assemblies and inevitable rushing to late lessons. I still enjoy it now- and although it doesn't involve school shoes and bags that can fit an A4 folder, being able to pick out some of my key picks from my favourite high street hero, Topshop, was up there with labelling new stationary.

So, after scrolling online- I successfully picked out what I'd like to label my 'new term capsule wardrobe'- four looks that all mix and match together perfectly come rain or shine, and all of which come in at under £50 each- not bad, right? I'd like to think each look is pretty adaptable- so whether you're at uni, sixth form, college or even teaching- there's a nod to every wardrobe! That's definitely a reason Topshop continuously come up trumps- the seem to get the balance of trend led items and the every day staple perfectly spot on (and well priced too)!

(Jumper: Here, Skirt: Here, Shoes: Here, Earrings: Here)

Although I've done a video talking a little more about my picks (which you can watch here)- I definitely still wanted to showcase these favourites here as I know I'll be turning to them again and again over the next few weeks (just with the addition of some 150 deniers and a granny-chic thermal vest, naturally). I also wanted to pop in one of my favourite casual back-to-school looks (below), because although I wasn't lucky enough to wear jeans unless it was own clothes day, I know plenty of people who's could- and it's all about the versatility ladies 'n' gents! Now where did I put my planner?

Post in collaboration with Topshop, but love of the brand, the excitement of a new term (despite being self employed) and all round 10% student discount all my own
