(Hat: ASOS, Shirt: H&M similar here, Skirt: C/O ASOS Africa, Boots: Office, Bag: Reiss, Jewellery: Anna + Nina earrings and bracelets)

There's something gorgeous about the light on a wintry Sunday morning, isn't there? After the clocks went back last weekend, Joe and I headed out after a much deserved lie in, making the most of the hazy sunshine and crisp October air. With an agenda of early Christmas shopping (#sorrynotsorry) we headed to Oxford Street by way of Green Park, taking in the Changing of the Guards and crowds of rightly excited tourists. With the weather significantly cooler, tights were pretty essential, and paired with some new favourite accessories (Anna + Nina have my heart after last years Amsterdam visit)- I felt suitably cosy indeed!

Now- let's talk about the skirt. I am all for a printed number, but this one's a little special. Curated as part of the ASOS Africa collection, where each piece is made under fair trade regulations using locally sourced fabrics by clothing manufacturer, SOKO. The skirt is made up as part of a 4 print series- which are all absolutely beautiful. The collection is produced in the African village of Maungu, and the drawings on the jersey sweatshirts are drawn by the pupils at the local school- how amazing is that? On top of that, for drawing these adorable illustrations- the ASOS Foundation are donating two carbon efficient stoves to the school, with the school launching a programme to provide meals at lunchtime for their pupils, who may not otherwise get a meal. If that's not sensible shopping, then I don't know what is!
