(Hat: ASOS, Pinafore: Urban Outfitters, Shirt: Urban Outfitters, Bag: Forever 21, Boots: Zara similar here)

It's been 3 whole years since I visited Festival Number 6 for the first time (hands up if you remember these posts here and here)- and my main memories of it were simply being something of an other worldly music-lovers dream. So when I was invited along for the weekend with beauty-brand of the moment (and new one true love), Smashbox, I (probably literally) jumped at the chance- and could barely wait to show Joe how beautiful the location was (and, ahem, hit up the Patty and Bun van too).

After leaving home at 6:30 on Friday, we arrived just after midday in the Northern Welsh countryside- following a beach side train journey through the country and into Bangor. With a packed itinerary on the cards- we scarpered to our airstream (yes, I thought it was a bit of a dream too)- to freshen up, before heading to the Smashbox tent to hop on board with one of their many workshops- before running over to the main stage to catch Slow Club (one of the first bands I ever assisted on a photoshoot with, and one of my favourite live acts ever-yay)!

The rest of the weekend was a haze of incredible food (any festival that has everything from buttermilk pancakes, mac and cheese, fresh pasta, Voodoo Rays and burgers gets a big old thumbs up from me), super useful make-up classes from the wonderful Smashbox team (this girl finally learnt how to contour- and then enjoyed snapping the results afterwards), a brief listen-in of Steve Coogan and some incredible live music (amongst many we managed to catch Metronomy, Young Fathers and Mark Ronson). We also spent some obligatory time exploring the stunning village of Portmeirion, which, in Joe's words is 'one of the most beautiful places we've ever been to', and is one of the most magical spots in the country (and also manages to play tricks into making you think you're somewhere far more exotic, too)- I honestly can't recommend a visit enough.

Before we knew it we were on a busy train back to the big smoke, but have already vowed to head back next year- thank you so much Smashbox for such a special weekend (and not just for the pro make-up tips, either)!
