Hello internet, meet Maggie- the newest addition to the Purvis family.

Having driven to Faversham just over 2 weeks ago to pick her up during the early days of Autumn (when it was still okay to have bare legs and take your coat off when the sun was out), Maggie has quickly become a big part of our family, and has secured her place the fluffiest little ray of sunshine and mischievous little missus we could wish for (which may, or may not, be the most cute-sy sentence I have ever strung together)- and we all love her a lot.

Amber Rose Photography What Olivia Did Amber Rose Photography What Olivia Did

In the short time she's been living in our home she has taught us so much, and it certainly hasn't been a walk in the park (literally, as she's still not had all of her injections- hohoho) and if we've learnt one thing- having a puppy is pretty hard work. We certainly didn't expect otherwise, and I'm not entirely sure what having a small baby is like, but I'm quite sure (and my mum assures me) it's not all that different. It's a lot of late nights, I've seen the earlier side of 5:45 more times in the last few weeks than I care to elaborate on (and have the sassy eye bags for proof) and trust me when I say I leave out the more glamorous aspects of my life (i.e cleaning up dog wee/poop) on Instagram for a very valid reason. But it's also the most wonderful and rewarding thing seeing your little one build a bond, respond to commands, and bury their head in for a cuddle- as well as cherish all the mutual love you have to share- which makes up for it ten times over.

Amber Rose Photography What Olivia Did Amber Rose Photography What Olivia Did
I'm thinking of doing a more detailed post about things to think of if you're thinking of getting a little pup, as I could definitely go on and on- but I thought I'd introduce you to the little lady currently consuming my photostream- I also thought I'd share these pictures the lovely Amber took whilst coming over last Saturday for tea, cake and lots of puppy time- as she's a pretty special little pup (and Amber has some pretty special skills)!

Do you have any puppy tips I should know? Answers on a postcard as I'm still learning how to be the best puppy-mama I can be!

  3. She is just SUCH a cutie! Becoming a dog owner is a huge decision but definitely one of the best investments you'll make...they say money can't buy you love and happiness but people who say that obvs have never bought a dog! I've had mine for 8 years now and he's like my best pal, wouldn't be without him. I'm sure you all know what you're doing but I would say remember to put your shoes away because mine was obsessed with chewing them, even when they were on our feet haha! Have lots of fun with little Maggie x

  11. She's the cuttest little thing! Your words remind me of when my mum, my sister and I drove to Atlantic City (we were in NY) to get my sister's toy poodle: Lily. I had never had a dog of my own, it had always been my grandparent's, my uncle's,... and even though this time Lily is my sister's we often get to enjoy her company around the house in Barcelona and I really miss her when she's back to the States with her mama :(

I don't think it will be a problem for Maggie, how big is she going to be? As I said, Lily is a toy poodle, that's the second smallest poodle size (the first is teacup, they're adorable!) and sometimes when we take her to our grandparent's they over feed her even though we tell them not to and she gets terrible stomacache and vomits so we have to take her to the vet inmediately 'cause she's too small to eat anything similar to what we humans eat. Anyway, it's always good to teach them discipline about this subject, a dog that's midning its own bussiness when you're eating instead of paying attention to every bite you take it's increbible!

  30. Olivia she is absolutely gorgeous, and worth every early start/scooping up poop etc. My friend has a puppy too and though she drives us crackers sometimes with her puppy tantrums and the crazy half hour she likes to have every now and again, I can't imagine their house without her - she's part of the family!

  43. Ah she is SO cute! I remember collecting Bear (my golden doodle) as a puppy, she was bloomin' adorable - I think I got more attention then than I have in a lifetime! Such a lovely period of time, but it is tiring, I took her on the first outing on the train and she pooped eerrrrywhere in Clapham Junction station during rush hour, due to her cuteness people offered a hand with their Sainsburys bag haha, so always carry about a few bags! Oh how our lives has changed and I couldn't imagine life without them. They really are like our children as mad as that sounds they have the most amazing characters and the love they give us back is so special. Enjoy every moment with Maggie she looks a bit like piglet let me know if you need any advice
