Tea with the Brontes Afternoon Tea Tea with the Brontes Afternoon Tea Tea with the Brontes Afternoon Tea Charlotte Cory Ann Sumner
Tea with the Brontes- The Gilbert Scott Bar- Runs until 12th February at 5pm at £25pp

If you're in London this weekend and fancy indulging in an afternoon oozing Literature and teatime treats fresh from the kitchen- then I think I may have just the place for you. Based on the life of the Brontë sisters, the Gilbert Scott Bar has teamed up with artist Charlotte Cory (with her amazing art collection 'Capturing the Brontës) and Brontë Society executive director Ann Sumner, for a menu and afternoon filled with plenty of Victorian delights- and a seriously impressive menu at that (and that's not mentioning the incredible setting)...

With teatime playing a huge part in Victorian history, each part of the menu takes inspiration from a key time in the sisters' lives from the Yorkshire Parkin (from an original recipe by their servant Tabby), classic cheese and pickle sandwiches, Eton Mess- and unlike any other afternoon tea I've had- Yorkshire puddings, adorned with gravy and mash no less (who said afternoon tea couldn't include dinner?) On top of that, if you're feeling a little fruity there's always the option for a Victorian gin cocktail too- chin chin!

  9. Can I just say my daughter and I love your blog. I saw you with a lovely black Lulu Guinness bag on your blog the other week and treated my daughter to it along with the lovely black Topshop scarf with pom poms you highlighted. She was thrilled as she loves your style - so thank you! x
