LOVEHEARTS Like last month; for March my top sponsor is the beautiful jewellery company Love Hearts and Crosses. This beautiful online boutique has every type of accessory you could ever wish for, and I can guarantee you're favourite outfit won't be complete without one of their pieces. From beautiful porcelain animal jewellery (yes, we're talking pugs and bunnies), knuckle and midi rings, stunning timepieces and amazing sale buys (yes, this weekend there's an extra 25% off too using the code 'Easter' too)- there's no excuse to not get accessorisin' your favourite looks with pieces that simply aren't available on the high street. STRAWBERRY Emily and Beth O'Regan are the seriously stunning sisters behind fashion (come-foodie) blog, The Strawberry Sisters. Now, if a page of reading this doesn't make you want to be the third sister, than I'm not sure what will- as these girls have THE most gorgeous wardrobe collection (think matching pastels and striking monochromes) and a pretty impressive portfolio of foodie reviews in our great capital (these girls know a good burger, or two. Or three.) These ladies take you on global adventures from music festivals (with some kick ass style), Budapest to the Big Apple- and even take you across the web to Youtube- where they've showcased some pretty damn funny vids too- bookmark 'em or else (I promise you won't regret it). FRIDAYISFOREVER It's not often you find such a beautifully crafted blog, which not only oozes beautiful photography, well written content and stunning outfits- but someone who simply doesn't take themselves too seriously. Sarah, of Friday is Forever pretty much defines two key things as to what blogging should be about; having a bit of fun and being honest and clear with your readers (two things that make her blog wonderfully endearing). From lifestyle posts, well shot beauty and some gorgeous outfits and product reviews this little piece of the internet has it all, and is definitely worth a visit (again and again). OLIVE AND FRANK With the amount of online boutiques popping up on a daily basis, it's completely understandable that finding somewhere beautiful to shop can be quite hard to come by. That's until you come across Olive and Frank. With items described as 'fun, inspiring and unique', founder Chloe makes sure this beautiful (and well priced) shop is fully stocked with pieces your wardrobe will love you for- and all for under 30 fine pounds. With covetable pieces including a knitted cat face dress (yes, I love it), chunky DM style bow brogues and more jewellery than even the biggest magpie could wish for- you'll just have to see it to believe it. thestyletag Laced with current trends, wishlists and beautiful (and achievable) outfits, Lauren, of London based The Style Tag has quickly become one of my most clicked blogs- and it's not hard to see why. Not only has the beautiful Lauren (yeah, there's a reason she's modelled for Mod Dolly) got some serious skills in the styling department (seriously folks, you best get pinning- this girl knows the recipe for a good outfit) but she's one of the loveliest ladies I've had the pleasure of meeting in the real world, and that certainly comes across on her gorgeous, well written and down to earth blog. One for your favourites, that's for sure. whatlauradidnext For a long time, Brighton based Laura's blog has been a go to for me- from everything fashion, wish listing and the best places to head to (whether in Paris or London- she's got it covered) and trust me, she knows her stuff. This twenty-something girl picks out the most beautiful items; be it jewellery from the stunning Alex Monroe or covetable kitchen items (nope, you wouldn't have even seen them on Pinterest), styles an array of wardrobe basics in THE most exciting ways (leopard and stripes are super cool fyi) and from time to time even throws a must-create recipe in the works- what more could a girl want? baileycakesblog Hannah's blog, Baileycakes is the perfect sit down read, when cosied up in doors when the sunshine is streaming through your windows- all in tow with a cup of sugary tea. This girl loves to see the best in things, and with that eye- she captures her adventures across the south of England (and sometimes in more tropical climates) in the most beautiful light- making you feel like you've gone along with her, wellies in one hand and camera in the other. Additionally, there's treats of restaurant trips, beautifully honest words and a peek into her day to day musings- the perfect recipe for a dreamy lifestyle blog. SECRET DIARY Fashion journalist, Laura's blog is the perfect insider peep into the big wide world of fashion and beauty, and boy does she do it well. With honest, straightforward beauty reviews (this girl knows her stuff- perfect for a novice like me), THE most lust worthy high street bargains (you'd be surprised at all the Primarni gems this one has picked up...), super covetable celebrity style (including statement summer shades your eyes will love you for) and stunning outfit photos which will certainly have you lusting after the latest high street buys (and her beautiful barnet and Colegate smile)- Laura's blog should be your first stop for fashion and beauty from a girl seriously in the know- who will have you coming back again and again. simple sophie Sophie's beautiful blog, Simple Sophie is the prettiest lifestyle blog bought to you by a girl with lots of passions (including photography and dancing), a love for cats and who resides in Leeds. Although described as essentially a lifestyle blog, Sophie's little corner of the internet oozes brilliant (and pretty impressive) recipes, perfectly put together outfits and trips to some of her favourite hide outs in the North (which are definitely worth taking note of- Love Rouge is a dream). A girl after my own heart, Sophie is an expert at styling a good hat and I can promise her blog will have you scrolling for hours. TENTATIVE An absolutely magical online Aladdin's cave, filled with semi precious and raw crystal gems that your jewellery collection certainly won't be complete without, Tentative Decisions is one site to bookmark and head to when a simply gold chain just isn't satisfactory. From shimmery double banded rings adorned with the most beautiful amethysts, to droplet rainbow crystal necklaces that add the perfect bohemian sparkle to any outfit (festival season is gonna LOVE this site)- this little shop has some real treasures and all for incredible value for money, oh and did I mention it was all handmade? Perfect. little nell Little Nell is the perfect online boutique selling a darling selection of hand made and handpicked jewellery- stocking everything from delicate gold and silver charm bracelets, quartz, amythest and hand painted pendants to stunning bobby pins (a.k.a the perfect hair accessory) and stunning arrow earrings- which scream festival season. On top of that; there's simple statement pieces (a.k.a the perfect gift) in the shape of delicate heart and star braclets and necklaces. Additionally, with many pieces being made to order; there's the opportunity to add a little something extra special to each individual purchase- dreamy right? I'm off to lust over the Stag Antler necklace...

Ladies Behind The Sidebar- March 2013

(I'm wearing the Tartan Summer Liddesdale Quilt Jacket & Mollard Polo with a Topshop skirt, Vintage bag and Charlotte Olympia kitty flats)

When I was invited for a day out with Barbour to help launch their beautiful new Dress Tartan campaign, I couldn't say no. With the promise of exploring my beautiful home town (something I rarely take advantage of), meeting my best friend for an explore around Borough market and a pit stop of chocolate brownies, sugary tea and flower buying and picking up some new records at my favourite record shop, Rough Trade- it was the perfect way to spend a chilly wintry afternoon.
barbour
Despite the continuous chilly breeze and on and off showers that were persistent throughout the day (surprise surprise), I managed to stay pretty cosy in this Liddesdale jacket and wool scarf (and a hot cup of tea, of course)- and tried to balance the traditional check print with a basic skater skirt and messy (and windswept) beehive- in order to unleash my inner wannabe-mod-girl (I'll let you judge with how I did...) It's a wonderfully versatile jacket, and teamed with turned up skinnies, crisp white shirt and my cat eye sunnies- I'm sure it will come in extra handy when April showers make an appearance. barbour2 Shuffle_WhatOliviaDid_007 (2)p Barbour have also launched a competition to win a dress tartan outfit for your own, by heading here you can have a look at how all of the other lovely ladies (some bloggers I am sure you'll be more than familiar with by now) styled their pieces on their day out- and also see what else I got up to here.

Additionally, the lovely guys at Shuffle also made a little film to accompany these pictures, so consider it my first steps on to Youtube done (along with some eating and exploring in too)! (If you appreciate silly waves, you'll love the end too!)

I just wanna be a fool and get lovesick with you

You may have a slight incline as to when these photographs were taken (clue: the one day we had sunshine a couple of weeks ago). I was determined to make the most of the (more than) pleasant weather, and hopped out on what was perhaps the first golden hour of the year- in yes, jeans and a t shirt (and heels, but you gotta make the most of the sunshine sometimes).

I've always had a bit of a soft spot for French brand Lacoste, I remember heading on holiday one year and being (very kindly) gifted a pastel pink bag with the little crocodile on it, and feeling like the coolest cat on the block. Of course, I couldn't use it for school, but it was something I truly treasured (and felt uber cool having). More recently I always recognize their beautiful jumping campaign images, usually with the words 'un peu d'air sur terre' underneath ('a little air on earth') which I always tend to remember, due to the same mention in one of my favorite Foals songs- The French Open... I completely love how the other ladies styled it- it's such a cool basic piece, but with it's white slightly scalloped collar has a cute retro edge that I simply go weak at the knees for.

and here's what I wore...

Take 10: Lacoste

A couple of weeks ago, I wrote a little post expressing my excitement towards the new H&M Conscious Collection- and, if like me, you've been as hawk-eyed and eager for it to land- you'll have realized it's finally dropped in H&M stores, which is pretty exciting indeed. I was lucky enough to team up with the ladies at H&M and styled some of my favourite Conscious pieces (including the playsuit and jacket here) mixed with some of my go-to vintage items (ethical all the way) in order to hopefully inspire some of you lovely lot, to try out some looks for yourself, and realise how darn wearable this beautiful collection actually is, along with some of my top picks. Now, without further ado...

My first look was inspired by this springs safari trend (spotted at Nicholas K SS13 and the Amazon rain forest) to which I teamed this beautiful cotton playsuit with a white silk vintage blouse and mini tan satchel- making for a really cool 'day to night' outfit and something relatively fuss free, but equally pretty classic. Additionally, this playsuit would also look gorgeous with some strappy heels of an evening, or with a chunky knit whilst the weather is still less than seasonal.

My second look was something a little more ladylike and K Middy inspired (a look I tend to lean to when it comes to working bouclé into my wardrobe) and consisted of this beautiful pale jacket, the same vintage blouse and vintage pumps I picked up in Paris, and a bag from Etsy. As soon as I saw this jacket it had me at hello, and I'm pretty excited to style it with boyfriend jeans, an over sized tee and sandals come summer- if and when it finally arrives...

Have you picked up any of the pieces? How have you styled them? Link me down below, I'd love to see! Plus, stay tuned for some more styling tips soon!

Styling the H&M Conscious Collection #1

ootd172 IMG_1682p IMG_1691p
(Dress: C/O Olive, Shoes: Vintage, Bag: Vintage, Lipstick: Topshop Mischief)

Out of all the shopping I do; be it online or in the midst of a rainy local high street (with the promise of a Marks and Spencer's lunch forever in sight) I always seem to go back to the same familiar places. I know I can always go into Topshop and find a top that completely justifies parting with £18.00, and know that if I find my way to the connecting Miss Selfridge shop there will be something equally as lovely (perhaps this time with sequins) that will result in the same scenario. However, when it comes to clicking up excessive tabs for internet shopping, there's always one place that's top of my list, and that's Olive.

As soon as I set my eyes on this kimono-meets shirt-meets sassy collar-dress (which actually reminded me of something I'd seen on the Miu Miu AW11 catwalk previously) it was love. It's without a doubt one of the coolest things in my wardrobe, and teamed with an over sized floppy hat, buttoned up or worn like a gown- I feel like freakin' Jessa from Girls when I wear it, which can only ever be a good thing. I also matched my lipstick to my book (which is amazing, by the way) which was certainly the most over pretentious way I've ever accessorized- but hey, I'm reading it and they matched. IMG_2573p IMG_2580p IMG_2587p IMG_2585p Another thing I've been reading a lot of is magazines (#girlprobs), particularly Grazia. I was very kindly treated by the people at Ladbrokes to a pretty delightful mini hamper, filled with some incredibly Liv-appropriate goodies in celebration of their casino slots- with a subscription to this tip-top weekly in the bundle and some pretty cute accessories- who'd guess they'd know me so well? I am certainly kitted out for reading material, that's for sure.

You had me dancing in the sun

Now, you may remember the post I did with Boohoo.com a little while ago in conjunction with their #sharethelove project; running alongside the most romantic day of the year- Valentine's day. Rest assured, I DID indeed share the love back then, but due to a whole host of business have only just managed to get this post up now- naughty Liv. Anyway, after treating Mama and Nana to a wonderful brunch, and treating a very deserving best friend- I decided to treat some of the main boys in my life; my dad, brother and boyfriend. After ideas of football, sporty things and paint balling (and realizing that last time I went I spent it close to tears behind a tree) we decided for a universal Purvis favourite; bowling.
IMG_0563p IMG_0573p IMG_0613p IMG_0587p IMG_0608p
It was so lovely to be able to spend some quality family time together, get a little (lot) competitive, confirm that one strike does not necessarily mean you are good at bowling and just enjoy being a bit silly. I don't always get as many chances as I'd like to take the Purvis' gang on the spin (or bowl) so sharing some family love was definitely long overdue. IMG_0594p IMG_0571p IMG_0637p IMG_0579p IMG_0650p
I also treated my brother, and boyfriend to a couple of little wardrobe treats. Neither of them are particularly big shoppers and very rarely treat themselves to anything, so made a couple of sneaky purchases after spotting a couple of things I'd seen them both previously mention and take a shine to- and as you can see, I think they went down pretty well.
IMG_2343p IMG_2345p
I had a great time Sharin' the love, thank you so much Boohoo- I can safely say it's definitely something I will be doing more often.

Sharing the love with Boohoo Part 2...

(Jacket: C/O Own the Runway, Jumper: C/O Nordic Poetry, Jeans: American Apparel, Bag: Mybag, Shoes: Topshop, Brooch: C/O Jiji Kiki)

One of the joys of being freelance, and spending a lot of time working from home is the charm of being able to spend a perhaps unhealthy amount of time in a tartan pair of fleeces trousers (pj bottoms, that is) and a top that could perhaps be mistaken for something to hold your potatoes- which certainly makes the days spent braving commuter train rides and picking out which sandwich to have in Pret during lunch hour marginally more glamorous; and means I usually make far more of an effort than necessary. However, for days spent street styling (especially during this unwelcome cold spell we seem to call winter) I tend to leave pretty dresses and skirts hanging in my wardrobe.

Out of all of the outfits you've probably seen on my blog, this is probably one of the less pretty; but hey, who said you can't be coordinated when wrapping up? This parka jacket from Own The Runway has fast become one of my wardrobe staples (especially when I feel a Liam Gallagher moment coming on) and the fact it has a hood makes it the perfect cover up for BHD's (that's bad hair days to you and I). Additionally, I couldn't help but throw on this super cool dinosaur brooch from Jiji Kiki- which I can't help but feel Ross from Friends would be proud of, and I'm a very big fan of.
