Before I begin, let me clarify- flared jeans are never something I'd ever considered wearing. Perhaps it's to do with the fact I had a Tammy Girl pair way back when- decorated carefully with denim butterflies, and ever since growing out of them have never been able to find a pair as erm, cool. Or- perhaps it's the fact my legs are a little petite (cough, short, cough) and I have a fear of channeling the Avril Lavinge circa 'Complicated' look- who knows. Saying that, recently I've become more infatuated by bootleg shaped jeans- they've done the glossy mag circuits- and now the seventies are back in fashion; a perfect opportunity to trial them, no?

Yes. Yes indeed. When the pretty awesome people at Jeanography got in touch- asking me to trial their fantastic online jean shopping service I jumped at the chance. Denim has me at hello, and ever since I can remember I've been a 'jeans' kind of girl. However, owning a far too varied collection of skinny jeans already- felt this the perfect time to jump into the sea of jeany opportunity. After putting in my measurements and sizes (all slightly varied), I selected some boyfriend jeans, spotty jeans and these cheeky bad boys. Now, normally the idea of buying jeans online without trying on is enough to send a shiver down my spine- but after cautiously trying on each pair (and subsequently growing far too attached to each) found each fitted to perfection- a mini miracle if you like. I opted for these as my pair of choice, and you know what- I think my eyes have been opened to the bell bottomed trews and online jean shopping- groovy!

Now- what better way to take the new dream jean out for a spin than for a spot of pizza making? When Pizza Express (a.k.a my favourite restaurant of choice) invited a few bloggers to sample the new Summer menu, with some seriously healthy new alternatives I did a big happy dance. I was the kid that had a Pizza Express party at 11- and at 19 this was the perfect way to remedy my need for another, as well as putting my pizza making skills to practice... 777 IMG_4623p IMG_4634p IMG_4625p IMG_4640p IMG_4643p 888
Whilst there, apart from getting messy and building our dream Legera pizza we were told about the main changes for the new menu and the awesome Get Kids Cooking campaign competition with the amazing Alex James- inspiring a million children to get into the kitchen and help cook at home. We sampled the new under 300-cal Superfood Salad (perfect for any 5:2-ers- plus it has CHEESE) and some amazing raspberry sorbet at that, whilst hearing about their new gluten free options (including beer) and healthy kiddie choices (no more naughty Nutella doughballs but new 'Create your own' options- huzzah!) which equated for a pretty spot on evening. Plus- the menu is now available in restaurants, so there's no excuse to get sampling- diet or not!

and here's what I wore...

  7. Love seeing more and more bloggers wearing bootlegs! I am still too nervous as of yet to jump on the band wagon, but I think they look so flattering on our curves!

  11. You look lovely in the bootleg jeans! I'm still not sure I could pull them off again - well I say again, I'm not sure I could even pull them off the first time I wore them haha! The Pizza Express evening sounds so fun - definitely going to have to try one of those salad pizzas xo

  12. I have also seen a lot of people wearing more bootlegs and flares and they look great. Like you, the last time I wore a pair of flared jeans I think they were also from Tammy Girl! They were very very glittery. So much so that people didn't like me sitting in their car with them on! At the moment I don't own a single pair of jeans! But I've been thinking to buy a pair for a while. Usually I'd stick to skinny but maybe I'll try a few styles.

  20. This looks like the most fun thing in the world. And delicious too!

I've always been a skinny-leg girl but I do like these more flared shapes doing the rounds at the moment, they're so groovy. But I haven't taken the leap yet!
