Amber[1]
If there's one thing for me that I love above anything else when it comes to writing this blog; it's the endlessly inspiring people I've had the chance to work and collaborate with, and there are few people I've met as young, as talented and as thrivingly passionate as Amber Rose. If I was in her photography class I can undoubtedly assure you she would be the pupil who would attract boundless amounts of envy from people like me, looking over her shoulder; but who just can't knack the art of beautiful photography- when to her, it seems to come so naturally. There's no point asking this girl which camera she uses- it's far more than just that. Amber has an eye for everything beautiful, and has the skill to freeze that perfect moment in time (as well as create it), before it escapes the lens for good. I for one, am very impressed...

I was lucky enough to shoot with Miss Smith late last year on a crisp November afternoon, and have since caught up with her to discuss what inspires her, the perfect pancake breakfast (and of course bacon butties), and working with Cara Delevinge (yup, you heard right...)

Hello you! For those of us that haven't seen your beautiful work before, tell us a little about yourself...
Well to start, Hello! My name’s Amber-Rose and I'm a photographer currently working in London. I spend all of my free time with my camera(s) slung over my shoulder capturing the world around me.
WORKSHOP33 What started your initial love for photography?
Ooh toughie! I think I'll always remember looking through family albums and being amazed that the memories were frozen still on the page and would always stay the same even in years to come. I also love how photography has allowed me to document my life in such a way that it is all so personal to me, because I took the photograph, and with that I can remember the day, the place, the people that were there at the time.
vera1 Which other artists inspire your work, who is your favourite?
Oh gosh there are so many! To name a few, Bruce Weber, David Bailey, Tim Walker, Rankin, Mario Testino, Annie Leibovitz and Henri Cartier Bresson. The list could go on and on, but I don’t have a favourite as such because they all inspire me for completely different reasons.
Paris1 You've already achieved so much at such a young age, what has been your 'photographic highlight' so far?
Aw! That’s so sweet of you, oh god where to start! Ermmm I think meeting some of my biggest inspirations Tim Walker has to be up there along with the incredible people I've been able to meet and work with, like; Cara Delevingne and Rita Ora.

What is the most important thing to remember to get a good image when shooting?
To keep focused and having a clear image of how I want to a shoot to look, whether its the set up of the shots or the styling. I also just keep very true to myself, depending on what I’m shooting I like to work closely along side my subject, if it’s a model I want there personal side to come out and have a giggle and smile. If it’s personal work such as holiday snaps I want to capture the atmosphere and the sense of being right there in the frame of the photograph with me. And on another note, not to think too hard when taking it! It should be a natural thing, try too hard to create an image and it can come across as false.
NYC ...and what inspires you in general?
As corny as it sounds, my family and friends are a massive inspiration to me! I also find myself inspired through places I visit, the people I see walking past me on the street, the films I see, and also music I listen to. All of these things have been known to set an idea in motion!

disney What's the idea of your perfect Sunday?
Ohhh well for starters a big, snuggly lye in, and if we're talking the PERFECT Sunday, a cuppa tea to go on the bedside table! Next, a hearty breakfast, (stacks of pancakes with the best friend is becoming a regular Sunday tradition), and a small wander out to get some fresh air and walk off the brekkie with friends, family and my two dogs Beau and Tink. Finished off with getting cosy in front of the fire and a good film; 500 Days of Summer, Gangs of New York, Monsters Inc. Super lazy, and super cliché, but perfection!

6 Finally, what's next for Amber?
I’m really excited to see what 2013 brings and I want to make the absolute most of it. Starting with the internship I've just started at Rankin. That, combined with squeezing in as many shoots as possible, and making sure to document my adventures on my blog with everything else in between!
