Having studied the pastoral during my last year of A Levels, I have a pretty clear idea of what fits the description of an idyll; or even an Arcadian landscape. However, it wasn't until I was pulling into the rolling sun blushed Welsh hills, with the blue ocean alongside me that I could say I'd ever properly experienced it. No, I wasn't about to hang out with Tess of the D'Ubervilles- but instead I was en route to Festival Number 6, situated in Portmeirion, in North Wales.

After being invited by the lovely girls at Cath Kidston after Carrie and Lucy sadly couldn't come, I jumped at the chance and began making lists of what to take, and charging my camera battery. After hopping on several trains I arrived in Bangor early Saturday afternoon, and after a (very windy) car journey arrived at the cottage we were staying at. Once we had unpacked we set off to the festival, and were greeted by many delicious food stalls, a fantastic line up- and the most surreal, Disney-like village I have ever seen.

After speedily devouring a lunch from Harvey Nics (!) we browsed some of the gorgeous independent shops in the main village, and spent an arguably long time browsing curd and chutneys (chut-er-ney!) before bounding back to the main festival arena for some Cathy K browsing (and cheeky buying) and preparing ourselves for the burgers and music the rest of the evening held...
