I suppose you could say this is my take on the 'Military' trend we're preparing for this autumn. With leather sleeved camo jackets sweeping the blogosphere and more importantly the high street, military jackets adorning the front of most vintage shops- it seems solider-esque style has never been so cool, and I can only suggest swapping Alexa for Action Man.
My take however, was arguably a little more subtle. I'm never one to fully embrace trends (unless they incorporate an oversized collar and ditzy print of course), and therefore opted for this khaki silk shirt; perfectly cool for this mini heatwave we appear to be having, and toned down enough that I can probably wear it under a pinafore or something equally as Primary school-esque come this Autumn. I decided to team it with some denim cut offs and a cream coloured body, for a look arguably a little cleaner than my own, but fun to embrace nonetheless!
Have you dipped your toes into the military trend? How did you wear it so you looked more Moss than Montgomery?

ReplyDeleteThis is such a wonderful look, Olivia! It's such a subtle, sophisticated nod to the military trend - a trend, I believe, has never ceased to be in the forefront during the autumnal fashion transition - but, with the help of that lovely studded bracelet, oh-so edgy all at once.
ReplyDeleteBest Wishes,
Tara

i'm not sure how wild i'm about the military craze either. i do like the utility vests tho- they look like they'd give a cute edge to any dress. but i like your spin on it- especially with the hat and that pretty gold bracelet

I didn't think that i'd ever be able to wear the military trend without looking like a bit of an idiot or try-hard, but seeing how you've worn it, I can definitely feel more confident about it now!
ReplyDeleteYou look so amazing in that outfit, it suits you so well. I love how simply it is, but then the oversized-ness of the shirt, bracelet and hat all make it different! Can I have your wardrobe, please & thank you.
xoxo.
Your boots and hat are AMAZING! x
ReplyDeleteHi Liv,
ReplyDeleteThe way you've paired your silk shirt with the hat is lovely. I love those boots too.

The silk shirt is perfect, I agree I could never go full on with this trend, but I love how you did it subtly!

I really love this outfit. I am a fan of the military trend and do really like the jacket with the leather sleeves but I have a feeling it's going to do the rounds and everyone will have it, I really like that you've put your own twist on it, and that shirt is really lovely :)
