(Top: Topshop, Hat: Miss Selfridge, Jeans: American Apparel, Boots: C/O Soyoushoes, Bag: Mulberry)

With the sun briefly appearing this morning and the rain clouds clearing away, it felt almost rude not to explore the depths of London and be a tourist in my own city. Undeniably, I often take for granted where I live. Being a mere fraction of an hour away from the centre of London, it's easy to forget how lucky I am, and to not appreciate the treasures, history and exploring that has yet to be discovered.

After many missed opportunities, and a sunny Saturday off of work, Joe and I decided to visit some of East London's most lovely parts; opting for a visit to Broadway Market and a mull along Columbia Road. After hopping off of the tube, and the blessing that is Google Maps we arrived to an incredible community atmosphere, hidden behind a parade of houses; the sounds, smells and street performers made for a warm welcome to Broadway Market. With mimes, singers and guitarists lining the bustling road, and the smells of fresh breads, fruits and mouth watering cakes decorating the rest, there was something for every sense.

After picking up The Gentlewoman in the amazing Artwords Bookshop, and browsing some gorgeous vintage on display (as you can see, I also spotted a somewhat sartorial dream of a paisley shirt, but for some silly reason didn't buy it- there is one lucky paisley patterned shirt bearer wandering around East right now) we walked across the canal towards Columbia Road, to peruse the pastel parade of independent shops, and resist temptation from gorgeous greetings cards, collectable crockery and the most gorgeous home ware in London...

With the occasional rain shower popping up, and a substantial breeze, I opted for a transseasonal sleeved lace top, some high waisted black jeans, boots for puddle hopping and a hat just in case all else failed! This weather can be somewhat challenging when making every day dressing decisions (I've had to resist my duffle coat) so I like to think I'm getting a little better!

Where are your favourite hide-outs in London? How do you cope with summer-cum-winter weather dressing?

  60. Such a lovely, simple look, Liv! I think it's got a touch of the French arthouse scene - though, that's probably just me!
On the subject of places to visit in London, Angel, in Islington, is slowly becoming my new favourite "hang-out". There is a super, retro ice cream parlour - the name of which escapes me at the moment - sitting on the cobbled streets and quite a number of vintage shops hidden away, too.

    Best Wishes,
