Bonjour! Salut! Bonsoir! Sadly, that's pretty much still all I have in my French vocabulary since my trip to Paris (bar the odd bit of GCSE textbook French including what I did on my holidays last year, and my personal favourite French word: 'Bibliothèque') but I thought I'd try something a little more exotic than 'hello!'
Anyway! After a long week of what feels like no blogging, I'm back! I had an amazing time in Paris (so beware of a couple of VERY packed picture posts) and still a little sad that it flew by so quickly! I've tried to narrow down my favourite pictures, and have a few posts lined up of what I got up to, and bought. Saying that, I can't take credit for most of the gorgeous places we visited- but a big thanks to Audrey and Laura for lots of handy hints!
Anyway, without further ado...

Anyway, without further ado...

Having arrived on the Monday evening at the gorgeous and 'hyper cool' Mama Shelter, our first day was probably the busiest, as Joe and I had a day filled with lots of touristy sightseeing in order to make our second, and last day a little more relaxed. The day began popping to one of my favourite French brands, A.P.C and browsing the beautiful 60s inspired new collection- although I managed to refrain from buying anything, we shortly headed to the Champs Elysees which included stops at Zara, H&M, Sephora and yes, Marks & Spencer (you can take a girl out of London...) We then made stops at the Arc de Triomphe, following onto the beautiful grounds surrounding the Louvre, and then onto Notre Dame. It sounds daft, but before now I was pretty oblivious as to how simply stunning the architecture, history and sculptures are in this city, and was endlessly bowled over by the craft and creation gone into each one.

The afternoon consisted of visiting some of Paris' gorgeous bridges; Pont des Arts being the one shown above, with all of the named padlocks, and then heading onto visit the imfamous Tour Eiffel, which is definitely as beautiful in real life, and oozed a certain magic, even in the height of daylight. To round off our first day we headed for dinner at Loulou Friendly Diner on Boulevard Saint Germain, to enjoy some seriously tasty burgers and fizzy drinks- to cool down from the Paris heat...

It looks absolutely incredible, and so do you of course! :D So desperate to go to Paris. Those padlocks are adorable too, I hope you guys did a padlock for yourselves! :D My boyfriend wrote our names on one when he went to Florence a few years ago and locked it to the bridge where everyone does the same thing, then threw his key in the river and brought mine back to me (which I still have!) x
ReplyDeleteI lived in in Paris last year as part of my degree and every time it pops up on my blog feed I can't help but go and torture myself by looking at the pictures and remembering how awesome it was. Luckily I made it back for a short weekend break (this weekend gone) and got to relive my favourite bits. You know the little funfair bit in the Tuileries (by the Louvre) where that wheel is you have a picture of? Did you see the ginormous ride that flung people up and down in circles - we went on it. Worst. Decision. Ever. I like rides, but that was one step too far! Cx
ReplyDeleteIt looks like you had a wonderful time! I'd love to go to Paris again. Also Joe's (I'm assuming?) saved by the bell top is wonderful, I think I need it! X
ReplyDeleteParis is such a nice city and so artistic! Your photos are beautiful :) x

I adore Paris :) It really is the city of love, with beautiful architecture and such a 'cool' air to the city. There's no hustle and bustle (or not that I saw). It's the only capital city I've been where people aren't charging around. It's lovely :) Looks like you had a fab time and had great weather! xx
