If you've been reading my blog for any period of time you'll probably know I'm not one to necessarily follow the latest trends to any real extent (I wish I could afford to buy into every trend, trust me). Okay, I like 'this years' pastels, I love prints- but I'll like them every year and every season regardless of what appears on catwalks. That isn't to say, however I don't appreciate them. I'll read Vogue, to Elle and LOOK, absorb everything I see, probably tear some things out and then glue them onto the nearest hard surface to me and covet them until the next resort collection. However, recently I picked up one of the most 'trend savvy' outfits in my wardrobe, which is by no means subtle- but I think I love it, say hello to my new favourite suit!

I will admit, this suit looks like pyjamas- it even says so on the website. Not mine for sure (hello Disney t shirt and oversized tartan bottoms- chic I think not!) but after deliberating over a burger, putting it on hold and running back, I'm glad I got it. Call me lazy, but if i'm ever blessed with the oppurtunity to wear sleepwear outdoors and it be socially accpetable- then hell, I'm going to take it and run.
Additionally, it's boxiness, oversized white buttons and white edging makes it ooze something a little sixties, an era which fashions melt my tiny heart- let's just hope the sun comes out so I can parade around in it, and maybe even rent a Boris bike to complete my look ;)

Have you dipped your toes into any big trends this season? Would you wear something as pyjama-y outside, or should pj's stay in the bedroom?

  1. I must admit I'm wary of trying this - I don't think I could pull it off - but you look amazing!

That's such a cute suit and I think the fact it's shorts rather than trousers stops it from looking like you're genuinely wandering around wearing PJs...

  5. I don't think they look too much like pyjamas at all! I absolutely love this outfit, especially with the sunglasses and the shoes :)

  6. I don't think I have commented before, but I have just started checking out your blog and I think it is superb. I am too scared to do the pajama trend. I have a pair of Paisley print silky trousers, but that is as far as I would go. You look fabulous though xx

  11. You look impeccable as always, your style is amazing and this suit is perfect for you! I'd love to try the pajama trend but I'm so small the whole look can seem frumpy on me. I'm dying to get back to the UK to see what TopShop has to offer for this trend.

  29. The style suits you so well Liv! What I love the boxiness like you said, it does have a twinge of 60's about it, which I love too! Plus, how could a cute pattern mixed with the perfect pastel-ness ever go wrong?!

  39. Oh bloody 'ell Liv, you really can do no wrong. Absolutely adore this suit on you, the colour is so lovely and it's just about structured enough with proper buttons and lapel details to take it away from real-pyjama territory (: I've only gone and taken inspo from you and ventured into the pyjama-esque trouser trend ;) xx

  40. I love it! And they may have a pyjama esque feel about then but PYJAMAS ARE AWESOME and as you said, if you can wear them outside why not?!
You seem to make every thing so wearable, sounds silly but if I saw this on a hanger I'd probably walk straight past it, but now I need a matching jacket and shorts!
