This time a couple of months ago I'd never really heard of Aubin & Wills. I'd walked past their store on Westbourne Grove on occasion and even ventured in there once when I was early for something else based in the area. However, until recently had never given them my time of day, and had regularly just assumed they were like an extended Jack Wills (not entirely false, but the two must not be confused). In fact, being the younger sister of Jack Wills, Aubin & Wills is only a mere 4 years old. Having launched in 2008, A&W was launched for a more 'mature' audience in comparison to it's elder brand, and oozes something a little more 'British' and heritage like, giving it somewhat of a timeless and classic feel- something that other Brit-brands such as Mulberry and Burberry seem to get to perfection.

So, as you can imagine, when I was invited along to meet a couple of the lovely ladies from A&W I was incredibly excited. I couldn't wait to learn a little more about the brand, visit the flagship (based in Shoreditch) and find out what makes them so different to their competitors.

Having a close knit connection to Shoreditch House, Jazmine, Carrie, Cat and I met there early Wednesday morning to enjoy a spot of breakfast with the ladies behind the brand(look at those amazing pancakes!) to catch up and get a little intro to the brand. It was so interesting to find out a little more about the Company and it's heritage, and fascinating to learn at how much pride they take in keeping the brand British, with pieces of production and the making of some of the pieces (even down to the sheep's wool) based in the U.K, which is personally something I feel makes a real difference in a brand and would certainly make me willing to pay a little bit extra.

Following our scrummy eats, we were promptly whisked away to the flagship store to which we were lucky enough to browse the collection and select a couple of pieces to try on and take home (I picked the above dress and jumper!). I was so impressed by the collection I could have happily taken the whole collection home. Filled with florals, vibrant shades and sorbet tints, completed with sharp cuts and thoughtful detailing (think peter pan collars to make you go weak at the knees). Additionally, this seasons campaign and Almanac is fronted by the hugely talented Alex James (or Blue and cheesy goodness) and Irina Lazareanu- a pair not just chosen for their dashing good looks, but their talent and culture, something A&W pride themselves on.

Keen on looking and discovering new and old talent, Aubin & Wills have a cinema and gallery space all to themselves, showing films new and old and showcasing some of Britain's finest art. This is a company that are keen to highlight that a brand isn't simply about the clothing, but the heritage and culture behind it; the music, literature, poetry, art and film that contribute to our ever evolving society and the history that formed a new and growing brand.

  1. Ahhhhh looks like such a lovely way to spend a morning, so jealous! I was inspired to click onto the website after seeing Jazmine's photos and there's so much I love, especially the lookbook. Love how everything's UK based too, so rare nowadays. Definitely adding some pieces to the wishlist!

  9. You pick some lovely pieces. I bought a hoody from them once at their store in Bicester Village. It's the comfiest hoody I've ever bought. The material is flawless. It's never once bobbled and is so snug, fits me perfectly. I can't rave about the quality enough so I think the price tag reflects this and obviously the way they are made perfectly. Luckily all of their stuff at Bicester is heavily discounted too so if you're ever over Oxford way you should stop by! Can pick up some great bargains :) x

  37. ...I've always love "style" & "identity" of my own whenever I'm organising my ensemble for anything...now, with aubin & wills around it made my everyday task easier to go through because they have seem to have the same concept as me when coming up with their collection..so Aubin & Wills gets top marks from me as the new kid on the block for style and identity conscious people like me..keep up the good work guys...xxx
