(Jacket & Cardigan: C/O Missguided.co.uk, Top: French Connection, Jeans: Topshop, Hat: Primark (yes, it's back this year!), Bag: Mulberry, Shoes: C/O ASOS)
Following the launch of their #ASOSSavvySunday project (currently ongoing on the ASOS website- register here and have a root around- there are some real gems to be found as well as some hidden treasures for a measly £1!), ASOS contacted me to get in touch with their discussion on life changing shoes!
Now, as you all may now I am a HUGE shoe fan, and really feel they can make or break an outfit, and equally, like bags, dresses, jeans or what have you- you can never have too many. Even since being in year 6, when Clarks Bootleg shoes (preferably with a flashing/interesting chunky heel) were my favourite thing, I like to think I have always been relatively savvy with my footwear. However, more recently than late I have been becoming more infatuated with heels. Maybe it's because my style is 'growing up', or more realistically I have realised with my height a little 'lift' is pretty necessary. Either way, I love them- and no, they're not always uncomfortable!
It was only two years ago that I bought my fist proper pair of heels on my 16th birthday. A nude strappy pair from Aldo- which made me feel amazing. They went with my birthday dress perfectly and since then I pretty much realised how much they can transform an outfit. Saying that, it was only recently for the Cosmo Awards that I bought my first PROPER proper heels, no straps no fuss, just black velvet court style heels, and although they were pretty painful towards the end of the night (ask anyone who saw me limping post party!) they are beautiful.
Saying that, I have several pairs of wedges and 'flatforms' that I wear on a day to day basis, all of which arguably put a spring in my step, and make walking across the zebra crossing all the more 'Carrie Bradshaw'. Okay so they're not all Manolo Blanhik's, but even with the gorgeous pair of tan heeled hiking boots (which are SO comfy FYI) that I received in aid of the project they really can pull an outfit together and make that gloomy Monday a little bit brighter!
