This is what I wore yesterday, after my wonderful surprise picnic, courtesy of my best friend, Gemma. I must say, the weather yesterday was particularly confusing- what with Monday's forecast reaching a whooping 31 degrees, yesterday was forecast 26 with showers- (and in a Carrie Bradshaw style) it made me wonder, what does one wear in this weather?

Anyway, after a while of searching my wardrobe, blogs and Lookbook for outfits- I resorted to my usual 'go to' outfit of jeans and a tee (vest in this instance). I also braved wearing my new wool floppy hat I bought in New York. I must say, I was incredibly worried about wearing it, and looking daft, but after pondering and asking Twitter- I went for it, and although my dad said it was very 'poet' looking (he said it was a 'Bob Dylan' hat), I'm glad I did- as it also proved a very good umbrella come the storms we had yesterday afternoon!

she's got a telescopic hallelujah hanging up on the wall

Hello y'all! Hope you're all well (and all my English readers are enjoying the bad-ass mini heatwave we're currently experiencing!). I'm now back from my mini-break to the Big Apple and have so many pictures to post and 'tales to tell' so am going to try and keep my ramblings to a minimal!

(Our Room, Breakfast, Central Park, Central Park)

The way there consisted of a somewhat epic journey. Being a nervous flyer as it is, I was dreading the whole 'take-off' 'landing' palaver, and being told all the NY airports were closed due to storms was nearly enough to put me off my in flight macaroni meal. Anyway, we ended up sitting at Washington D.C for about three hours- so I can now say I've been to another part of the U.S- score!

From the moment we arrived, the trip was pretty intense and non stop. I was lucky enough to explore Central Park, 5th Avenue (swoon), Greenwich Village for lunch at the Cornelia St Cafe, the shops and boutiques of Soho and finish the day with some tasty Chinese cuisine at Buddakan (which, as it turns out was featured in Sex and the City!).

(Cousin P-Myself-Brother P, Grand Central Station, Central Park)

On the Sunday, we hit the Statue of Liberty Tour, but, being a wimp (yeah I hate boats too, I'm a real bundle of laughs) I made my mum and I simply sit and watch from across the island whilst the rest of the family took the boat over! Following that, we headed to Grand Central Station- which was unbelievable, such an incredibly built building with such precision and awesome details- I was in awe! The Met Museum of Art was next, and we were lucky enough to go into the Alexander McQueen 'Savage Beauty' exhibition, which although very busy, was by far one the of best exhibitions I've been to. It really gave you an insight to McQueen's design process and seeing his designs up so close was pretty special! We then visited the High Line, an old rail road converted to a park and walkway which was stunning! In the evening we headed to the French 'Pastis' (another SATC featured restaurant) prior to a crazy evening in Times Square shopping at midnight!

(The Met, Statue of Liberty, Mumma P & I on Times Square, Times Square)

Our last day was soon upon us, which we spent squeezing in some last minute shopping, taking The Sex and the City tour (oh yeah we did) and enjoying a last lunch at Balthazaar- a cafe close to our hotel. It was such a whirlwind of a visit, and although was pretty packed out I had such a lovely time, and feel very fortunate that I've had the opportunity to visit such a vibrant and buzzing city!

(a touristy series of pictures I took!)

I'm sorry this post has been incredibly long winded, but seeing as it was just a weekend break didn't know if I should split it into separate posts- perhaps that would have been a better idea!

P.S as if you hadn't heard from Facebook/Twitter how AMAZING was Beyonce at Glastonbury last night? If you haven't already seen it I seriously recommend heading over to the BBC for some bootylicious viewing!

I finally got my mitts on this top! After spotting it on Alexa herself, and falling pretty much in love and searching far and wide (quite literally wide- it ended up coming from the U.S of A!) I finally tracked down, after hunting on endless forums (yeah yeah, fan girl) but I absolutely love it- so many thanks to Blake!

I also treated myself to a cheeky trip to Wah! this afternoon for some awesome nail art. Usually I'd do it myself or at least attempt, but after my birthday last week (thanks for all your messages btw!) I decided to go for it- and I'm pretty pleased with the results!

Also, I am now back to blogging properly and regularly, as my exams are over (YAY) and after 12 hour days of revision I am glad to be back to my rambling! However, I am away this weekend on a trip to New York (mega eeeeee!) so will do some packed out posting next week!

I hope you're all having lovely weeks, and have awesome weekends!

I wanna make your smoke and kisses black and white

Firstly, my apologies for being a little AWOL n the past week. I've had the loveliest and busiest week, with a tonne of revision thrown in for my history exam today!

I had my birthday yesterday, and I can honestly say I have been spoilt rotten over the last week by my amazing family and friends, from a family dinner at The Ivy, afternoon tea at The Dorchester with Mumma P (v.posh!), seeing Legally Blonde the Musical (which was amazing, just like the wonderful Jazmine had anticipated- my boyfriend even liked it!) and the ever wonderful Nandos! I feel like the luckiest girl in the world, and can honestly not explain how grateful I am!

I have my last A Level next week, in English, so posts will be a minimal until then-but you can catch me on Twitter, or even my Tumblr- which are mainly my go-to procrastination platforms.

I hope you've all had a lovely week- has anyone got any lovely weekend plans?

This is what I wore for one of my best friend Genevieve's birthday meal last night . The weather was the perfect excuse to dress up this new white summer dress, and although very tall I couldn't resist my tan platform heels!

I had such a lovely evening with everyone, and seeing people I hadn't seen in ages. We went to The Crown pub in Mile End, which is just on the edge of Victoria Park and enjoyed some slap up food and some good (ready for the cheese) 'girlie giggles'.

I've got a really busy week next week including my 18th birthday (eeeee!) and my History A Level exam, so posting may be to a minimal- but I shall update you all when I have a moment and get back to posting!

I hope you all have a lovely weekend!
