(Making the most of the U.K snow!)

I'm sorry it's been a while since my last post, I feel I've been neglecting my blog a little and I'm sorry for that! But I intend on posting alot more, especially since coursework is nearly complete. Anyway, I went shopping on Sunday for the first time in ages, (which felt amazing- as sad as it sounds) and snapped up a few pieces to get my through the cold snap we seem to be encountering!

(Hat- Urban Outfitters, Snood- Topshop, T-Shirt- American Apparel, Cardigan- Urban Outfitters, Jeans- Topshop, Boots- Dr Marten)

I bought the grey chunky cardigan in the above picture from Urban Outfitters, along with the feather trilby style hat, which I was initially unsure about, but was sold by the '70's feel' it had.
I can honestly say I haven't taken the cardigan off since i bought it, it's the warmest thing and the perfect length- not too long or short.

Last but not least I bought these gorgeous seude wedges from New Look which were a steal at 24.99! They're the perfect colour for this season, plus uber comfy!

Have you bought any winter buys for the cold weather recently? :) I hope you're all having fun in the snow if you're in the U.K!

(all pictures from various Tumblr sources)

just a short post, as I've been feeling rather poorly and have got a huge pile of work calling my name, but I thought I'd share some of my favourite pictures of the moment x

Last night I took my mum out to see The Kooks, We Are Scientists, Example, John Bramwell of I am Kloot and the gorgeous Leah Mason. It was such an amazing evening, and all in aid of Mencap (such an amazing cause)as it was one of Jo Wiley's Little Noise Sessions! All the sets were acoustic, with The Kooks having a strings section aswell. Example also blew me away, and no matter what you say- that man knows how to work a crowd!

Here are some pictures from the evening:

Topshop Christmas Collection

Monday, 15 November 2010

As the Christmas collections from Topshop hit the net and our high street, I couldn't help but flick through their Lookbook in awe of some of the wonderful pieces available. The collections (Snow Queen, Abigails Party, Demi Couture and New Puritan) all display contrasting yet equally gorgeous pieces, with 70's inspired shapes, sparkling and jewell encrusted knits, flared trousers and leggings along with floaty chiffons and retro platforms- all of which make this season the season to most definitely be jolly.

(p.s how AMAZING are the sequined wide leg trousers in the second picture!!)

Gavin Watson: Neville

Saturday, 13 November 2010

A picture of Carnaby Street I took last night. Which can be found here.

Yesterday, after attending an Art conference thing for school, (which was actually pretty good, it included photographer Martin Parr giving a hilarious lecture) I payed a visit to the Gavin Watson mini exhibit, titled 'Neville' which is currently being held at the Studio 55 store on Carnaby Street.

His work shows a series of pieces which capture the culture and style of skin heads and punks, and unintentional the fashions portayed throughout that era. The photos show images of his friends and brother, with raw emotion and incredible underlying skill throughout.

Liv loves: Emma Watson

I can't deny it, I'm head over heels about Hermoine...

(pictures from here)

And why on earth shouldn't I be?

She's been gracing our screens for a decade as the adorable and somewhat nerdy Hermoine Granger, and is one of the year's greatest style icons- not to mention a wonderful actress. After her 'Mia Farrow esque pixie crop', fashioning her to resemble a sauve 60's icon, people are finally beginging to recognise her for the British style and elegance few 20 year olds have. Not only has she the beauty, but studying at Brown University (New England) she has the brains aswell. Additionally, she is one of the most modest, interesting, and genuinely down to earth actresses out there, and her endless television interviews and December cover feature on Vogue justify this perfectly.

(December issue of Vogue is out now, and features a gorgeous feature on Emma, plus some stunning works by Mario Testino plus the man, the myth and the ledgend that is Jarvis Cocker...)

Last week I went charity shopping with my best friend, and managed to pick up both of these beautiful bargains! The top two images showing a cream chiffon type blouse and the bottom a chunky oversized maroon knit jumper, which is gorgeous! The material from the blouse falls so nicely, and despite being several sizes too big still fits without looking odd!

I haven't been charity shopping for ages, and in all honesty it's because I find it really hard to find things. I see so many bloggers finding such amazing pieces, and whenever I seem to go I end up buying things simply for the fact they are cheap- disreagarding the fact wether they will in fact ever be worn. So, to find two things, both of which are currently in fashion (floaty blouses and cable knits in Topshop anyone?) was really fortunate, and I've already got my money's worth out of them!

Have you found any amazing charity shop/vintage buys recently?
