so many berries

eeeek, so recently, I've become extremely excited about high-street designer knock-offs, and as much as I know people hate them, I couldn't help but become extremely fond of the marvelous creations Peacocks are producing.

I know it can be really annoying when a high street brand reproduce a designer 'must-have' item badly, but I think Peacocks have done it in a somewhat subtle and pocket friendly way!

As well as the delightful sell-out of the Chloe 'Louise' bag earlier this year, at a jaw-dropping price of £10,they've gone and done it again with this summers fashion staple, the Mulberry 'Alexa' bag (of course, titled after the one and only Miss Chung), and at a price of £14, it's defnitely something going on my wish list- despite the huuuge waiting list already, boo!

I also became all 'lovey dovey' at the news of Burberry stars George Craig and Emma Watson becoming a couple! Two of the coolest people who make one of the coolest campaigns on British soil!

She's also starred in One Night Only's newest video, so check it out here and enjoy:

until next time!

Jonathan Pierce for Hedi Slimane

Wednesday, 23 June 2010

I actually cannot get over my pure excitement for these pictures. aaah I just had to post about them because Hedi Slimane is such an amazing photographer and she’s just photographed one of the coolest guys in music. I almost feel cool, considering two posts down you can see my pictures of him (pretty lame in comparrison to Ms Slimane, but nevertheless there)

okay, so I found them from this rad french blog (which I would defnitely credit, only I cannot find it ANYWHERE, I did try!), which unfortunately I couldn’t really read simply due to my arrogance towards learning at GCSE, but I had to share them as they’re great. yeah, cool, bon appetit.

if you're the night sky, act like the night sky

(old posts continued...)

okay, so I've just caught a glimpse of the new We Are Scientists video and I've just fallen in love a little bit. After seeing it kindly tweeted by XFM, I couldn't resist a look and I must say it's everything I look for in a good song (repetition, good guitar and preferably a karaoke style video- only this additionally includes Keith skateboarding like the dude he is). I always really enjoy the videos by these guys, they seem to have a good eye for a fun storyline and inevitably cheeky humour and wit.

WAS on the video:

"— ***SK8 OR DAIEEEEEE!!*** That's the theme of this badass motherfucking video. To make it, Keith pulled some of the dopest, most dangerous sk8 moves of all time, breaking many world sk8 records. Meanwhile, Chris risked his life filming these moves through whatever means were necessary, which included sk8ing around with a camera on his shoulder -- WHAT WOULD YOU DO IF YOU SAW THESE TWO FUCKING MADMEN SK8ING AROUND TOGETHER?!?! Duck and cover, is all you really could do. Call FEMA.
(Shot, chopped, & cropped by We Are Scientists)"

So, go wild and sing along - there's no excuse.

ALSO, I was super lucky enough to see We Are Scientists last Wednesday eeee (16th June) so expect photos soon!

let's go surfing

so, after shorting posting my last entry, I realised that keeping two separate blogs could be quite complicated (to an extent...) so I thought I'd simply transfer all my old posts onto here and make this music and fashion based to make it more exciting :)

I wrote this review of The Drums instore in April, it was such a fabulous night and I took some snaps :)

I also wrote this review after the instore, and I must say they're really coming to be my favourite band (The debut album is also amazing, so if you haven't already- have a listen!):

Okay, so last night I went to see The Drums performing at Rough Trade East- one of East London's most reknown record stores. Being one of the most highly anticipated bandsof 2010, I- along with a group of friends arrived several hours early, but 'oh mumaa' (anyone see what I did there?) was it worth it!

Coming on stage just after 7, the band performed a hearty mixture of new tracks from their forthcoming debut album (release date June 7th), along with their debut track 'Let's go surfing', and newest release 'Best Friend', in which lead vocalist Jonathon stated was about his 'dead best friend'. The band succeeded in getting all the audience on their toes, dancing like robots with sharp hand movements and a somewhat Joy Division ambience about them , many of the audience wishing they had turned their jeans up and slicked their hair back in order to be like the New Yorkers graced in front of them.

Towards the end of their animate and radiant set, I asked myself

"Is it too early to call The Drums my new favourite band?"

and it's true. Performing tracks that could have been whisked straight from an 80's record player, and having been compared to the likes of The Beach Boys and The Cure, it seems there are bright things in the furture of The Drums, and I can't wait to see what they are.

Hello world, so I've decided to properly start a blog. I've already been blogging via my music based one ( and have decided to start something more 'fashion' and clothes based, as my other seems entirely music centred. I've been so inspired by some of the fabulous blogs out there at the moment, and seeing as exams have just finished- it seems to make perfect sense :)

So, here goes nothing, welcome to my blog, bon appetit!

All photographs on this blog were taken by me (unless otherwise stated), please don't pinch them without asking and crediting to my blog
