New York Fashion Week has just finished, and London Fashion week is just beginging- which can only mean the spring forcasts and catwalk trends are out and coming for next season, and I've been eagerly anticipating what next spring has in store. One show at NYFW that I feel has outdone itself (as per) and has also summed up next year for us is the wonderful Marc by Marc Jacobs.

To begin with I wasn't entirely surprised by one of the trends that arose from the collection (and in that of Henry Holland's- which was also fantastic). Stripes have been in ever since someone learnt how to draw a line and the French were fashionable (pretty much since time began), and as much as I love the breton stripe, I can't say it oozes incredible originality, especially as it seems to have been everywhere this year. Despite this, I can't say I don't love how it's being worked in thr Marc by Marc Jacobs collection. Teamed with the nudes of last season, and introducing flirty vivacious pinks, sun-kissed peahces and fucshias for next, I think it's been given an exciting new twist which I can't wait to see introduced to the highstreet!

Similar to that of Diane Von Furstenberg, another trend that was clear in the new collection was the bold use of 70's shapes, styles and boyant colours. The appearance of high wasted flared trousers, oversized straw sun hats and asymetric/halter neck floaty frocks were also unveiled, in a pallet of cerise, burnt yellows, and bight blues, the summery colours we all know and love. Don't get me wrong though, there were also a comftable selection of pale khakis and nudes- carrying over the immensly successful trends of last year, and adding bold shapes and patterns making them the hottest new thing of the year ahead.
